Danny Salazar’s passion for visual storytelling began in his high school’s photography darkroom. Intrigued by the creative and technical development of film, he moved his aspiring efforts to Broadcast Journalism. Spending a couple years in training, he grew his abilities to edit and shoot video for various projects. After high school, he continued his efforts by interning for a local production company, assisting in post-production and on set for commercials. Since his beginning days in hobby filmmaking, he has had the opportunity to travel the world to shoot and produce documentaries in India, Indonesia, Singapore, and Europe. Past clients include Chevrolet, AOL, Stylelist, Discovery Channel, Blackberry, Dodge-Chrysler, Bridgestone, Walmart, & many more. More than just a camera man, Danny is set apart by his extensive knowledge as an editor – setting himself apart from other cinematographers. More than anything, Danny knows how to push past certain limits of production and make a project more valuable from beginning to end. Apart from filmmaking, Danny enjoys spending time with his wife, playing music with friends, taking pictures and crafting delicious lattes. Click here to view Danny’s full resume >

I recently had Danny as my DP on a short film I directed that is currently in post-production. We had a very positive relationship in constructing the shots. He was very good at understanding what I wanted and how to achieve it. He was the utmost professional with an upbeat ‘can do’ attitude. I’ll most likely be approaching him for my next project.

Danny worked with us as a DP on a shoot in Las Vegas.  He was cool and calm in a fluid ‘run and gun’ scenario which made our clients comfortable.  He was also game to do what was required to get the right shot; in this instance, driving into the desert to get a nice time lapse as the sun set on the Strip.

-Mike Edgell, VP & Creative Video Director, 76BrandFilms

Danny is my go to cinematographer. He keeps sets light and fun, and is constantly on the move. He’s climbing trees and roofs, doing whatever it takes to get the shot. There is nothing Danny wouldn’t do to make sure what I have in my head is exactly what we shoot.

I have known and worked with Danny Salazar for almost 10 years. Danny is not only a talented cinematographer, he is a man of excellence and integrity. The final product of his work has always exceeded my expectations. Danny is a man who says what he does, and does what he says! You can expect the same service and integrity! I would sum up Danny’s work with one statement, “creativity with integrity!”

-Mark Zweifel, Alaska Missions Network & ES2 Graphics

Danny knows his stuff. He has the head knowledge and expertise of a veteran of the field, but he also has the excitement and “go get it” attitude of a student of film. He is dependable and reliable – I don’t think I’ve ever heard of him showing up late to a set and he’s a professional in all he does. He has my highest recommendation.
